Director of Content and Curriculum - Patrick McKinney

Prior to becoming the Director of Content and Curriculum and PYP Coordinator, Patrick McKinney served as a founding first grade classroom teacher, 2nd grade classroom teacher and Humanities Department Chair. In these roles he developed a passion for providing all students with a unique learning experience that inspires greatness in each child. These experiences guided his decision to take on a leadership role where he can have an impact on a larger number of students and ensure those students receive a high quality education.

Patrick has earned a B.S. in Childhood Education from Five Towns College, M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction: Literacy Specialist from University of Cincinnati and M. Ed in Educational Leadership from Columbia University’s Summer Principal Academy. He also holds advanced certificates in High Performance Leadership, Change Leadership, and Managing for Execution from Cornell University. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate, studying Organizational Leadership at Northeastern University.

Based on his education and experiences, Patrick works to ensure all students are receiving a rigorous, engaging and well-aligned curriculum across all subject areas. He believes that students learn best when they are interested in what they are learning, and works relentlessly to provide those learning experiences in a safe environment conducive to learning. By creating this supportive environment where all members of the community are constantly learning and growing, student are able to thrive.
